My problem with Sean is that he's just not for real - just a silly camp character who makes the storylines seem rediculous. He'd be good as a comedian, like Lily Savage, but even then it would become boring after a time.

We already have two gay men on the cobbles now, besides Sean - and at least they are 'real' people - so why do we need him anymore?

Just get rid of this twit, and I'll give it 10/10.

7/10. I think it will go up when Liz takes over though as she is pivotal to the history of the show having once ran the pub.

I hope they put an end to the Nick, David and Kylie fiasco and give more scenes to Dennis and Rita instead of the dire Katie and Chessers.

Not much at the moment.Stopped watching for a while but had to come back. It's like a drug... things might get better when the Price family leave. Sad

Whilst the Hayley storyline is very sad, I am loving the sideline storylines that are coming out of it (Roy's driving lessons, Hayley's list etc) I also feel that they are dealing with this a lot better than the Alma Haliwell storyline.

Liz is on her way back, Rita and Dennis have more airtime coming up soon. I think Coronation Street is certainly on an up swing.

I am amazed that the show has been going since 1960. 53 years on air. A massive achievement.

Yes please, more Rita and Dennis scenes as opposed to Chesney and Katie scenes.

Corrie has its flaws but it is not like Emmie or Easties. At the minute any road. In ED and EE it is just gloom and doom. Corrie is the best soap alongside H&A.

There are too many plots involving gays and lesbians.
Never forget Corrie is a small cobbled street...Not a huge city like San Fransisco.

The street suffers with continuous sensational plots which are
too far fetched...Restbite is a must!!

The thing I always remember is that its creator, Tony Warren, is gay but he never pushed that onto his work. He just wrote about Northern life, whereas now we have a situation where one gay storyline has finished and another one has started up. It seems like there is an unwritten rule that there must always be something going on, on screen, that affects gay characters. I'm sure this is not an accurate portrayal, surely gay people want a quiet life as much as a straight person does.

"Roverman" I attended the 50th anniversary of Corrie which took place at The BFI.

Tony Warren took to the stage and within a minute he had to tell the audience "when I was a young man I was confused sexually"

It beggers belief why he even felt the need to tell us about his sexuality when all we wanted to hear about was the show.

I think that statement is based on perception and not fact. I dont find it as sensationalist as you say it is.
