Todd returning has just added to it of course.

Corrie is a small cobbled Northern street NOT a huge city called San Fransisco as I have recently pointed out on here.

Somebody like Emily would be shocked by what is going on locally to her but not a word from her just like many of the older people in this once highly entertaining soap.

A soap should not be used as a soapbox for promoting sexual or religious beliefs.

thing is yes it is a small cobbled northern street , but we're in 2013 , and gay and lesbian folk are part of real life , which the street is meant to reflect ...changing times and all that , I seem to recall Emily did have something to say to Sophie , a while back or vice versa when she was upset her and Sian would be excluded from their christian youth group .

Yes, considering Salford and Manchester have gay communities.

I think that the number of gay characters is proportional for a group of people that size. I mean other people live on the street that we don't know about - there's always a gang of people working in Underworld we don't get to know. Sophie was an important character to have as a lesbian as she was the first in Corrie. A very important milestone for both gay rights and feminism.

I find Corrie is true at representing the demographics of Salford. I dont like it when people say Corrie used to be like reality TV now it is not. Since when was it like reality TV. Stop kidding yourselves, all soaps have realistic and unrealistic stories and Corrie has had both since 1960. It is one of the best soaps ever and has the most colourful history.
