So the new broom has arrived, so far he wants to sweep Brian, Paul and Kirsty off the cobbles.

I'm sure others will follow as the rumours abound that an entire new family will run the Rovers when its rebuilt from the ashes.

But do you agree with the culls and who would you have picked?

Kirsty definitely . Good actress but hate the character .

I think Brian and julie are a great pairing - almost Derek and Mavis-like and that is a big mistake in my view.

Paul the fireman is a nonentity and brings nothing to the show but poor Eileen ! Unlucky in love .

More that should go- GAIL ( past her sell by date) Dev definitely, nosy Stella, Jenna and Mandy . A least likely couple Lloyd and Mandy- she looks like his mother or auntie at least!

I like seeing sisters Julie and Eileen happy so it's a great great shame to see them being made single again. Brian was a great character and it was nice to see a genuinely happy couple on the cobbles.

Kirsty on the other hand, has run her course.

Many people hate Anthony Cotton so let's hope that he gets the boot for good.

It would be good if Dev and Sean did get written out and died in a car crash or something so there was no chance of them ever coming back.

Sean definitely - I don't care how, just get rid - the sooner the better! Michelle can go too, because I find her tiresome. Both are so busy with "other careers" that they think they can just swan in and out of Corrie Street whenever it's convenient for them.

Have you read who's been axed PNG?

I don't think you'll be too happy...

Do you have a link to the source?

The only article I have found is here:
'Coronation Street' boss teases Hayley, Stella, Carla future

...where Blackburn says that there are no immediate plans to introduce new families to Weatherfield, as he will be concentrating on making sure existing characters are working "as best they can".

As far as I can see, the only characters who will be leaving are those we already know about - but isn't this starting to become a spoiler thread?

So, loads of characters are leaving, hopefully Blackburn doesn't just bring in returning characters. I want to see the next generation of the Tanners.

Anyway, these are the cast which are leaving:

Karl Munro
Gloria Price
Paul Kershaw
Brian Packam
Hayley Cropper
Tina McIntyre

Ken and Kevin are obviously currently suspended as well.

Sean has signed a new contract unfortunately.

I hope the axe does not fall on Dennis, Norris or Sylvie.
