What is it about soap kids? they act stupidly impulsively and more importantly selfishly, and their adult carers simply 'respect their wishes' whilst taking the fall themselves.

This whole story line with Sasha and the river boy has annoyed me from the start. We all know that there are men who beat their women, and women who seemingly allow it (and note I said seemingly!). But this girl lives in a house with three other people who should surely have noticed something. Marks? bruises? attitude? (scrap that the girl already had attitude in abundance). The other day her abdomen was black and blue after he beat her and no-one noticed?

But even worse, her desire not to look 'stupid' over not saying something to others about the abuse, now means that her father has already lost his job, his girlfriend, and is about to lose his freedom. Let us hope that someone makes her see what her 'pride' is costing.

Although it did seem that the boy was beginning to see where his own attitude was coming from during the encounter between Sid and his dad.
