| I started watching neighbours again around the time that toady was fostering and then adopting the boy (whose name now completely eludes me) but where did he come from in the first place and how come Toady became involved? |

hey the little boy's name is Callum
I remember that after Toadie broke up with Steph, and he had to leave Charlie and everything aswell, I think he started thinking about his life and what he seriously wanted to do with it.
He tried to adopt another child and when that felt through Steph introduced him to Callum.
Here's some background on it :
Wikipedia
Toadie is first introduced to Callum through Steph after his failed adoption plans. Toadie invites Callum to stay with him after finding his grandmother unable to cope with Callum. Toadie initially struggles with this new found parental role but eventually finds common ground and interests. When Callum was taken to Ballarat to live with his relatives, he was homesick for Erinsborough. Callum's relatives contacted Toadie and Callum returned to Erinsborough. Toadie is Callum's legal guardian. [4]
The character of Callum was originally to be the child from the Indoniesian orphanage called Dia [5]. However, new Executive Producer Susan Bower changed the storyline when she took over and instead the character of Callum was introduced. _________________

Thank you for making it clear, although do not think that the message 'adopt a child as an antidote to depression after the break up of a relationship' is actually the sort of thing soaps should be promoting |
