LOGIE nominee Pippa Black (left) is the latest star to be saying goodbye to Ramsay St and the cast and crew of Neighbours.

Black, who plays Lucinda ''Elle'' Robinson on the long-running soap, was hailed as one of the show's brightest young stars and received a Most Popular New Female Talent nomination at the 2006 Logie Awards.

Executive producer Susan Bower said Black was a ''wonderful actress'' and a ''beautiful person''.
''We've anticipated that Pip would want to spread her wings and have been incredibly privileged to have had her with us for the past three years,'' Bower said.

Black's departure comes hot on the heels of co-star Brett Tucker (Daniel Fitzgerald) who is leaving the show to act in the US.
Bower said it was ``coincidental'' that Tucker and Black were leaving the show at the same time and said it was common for young actors to want to take their careers further overseas.

``People naturally want to explore new opportunities and actors are the same, both are heading overseas,'' Bower said.
She said casting for new male and female actors had begun.

So that's Dan and Elle going. Who else is going to be next?

Im so angry that Elle is going in particular, she's one of my favourites. No doubt Libby is going to be heartbroken all over again.

And there are ''new actors'' being casted. Great, MORE NEW CHARACTERS! Ffs! I don't like this Susan Bower woman, she is obsessed with the teen cast, and is constantly introducing new characters, while older ones leave.

The balance between old and new doesn't exist, and Im starting to be put off Neighbours very much again.

I'm quite worried over this news. Two favourites leaving isn't a good sign.

Since Susan Bower has taken over things have changed - and some for the better. However, I am slightly worried by her need to introduce lots of new characters - I suppose she is trying to re-invent the show herself. Perhaps that is tough to do without finding some new cast.

You may be interested to read this. The "Dan and Libby" header is the most worrying - a steady marriage is boring? I think it's a shame she thinks like that.

Article from DigitalSpy.co.uk:

I recently chatted to the wonderful Susan Bower about all things Erinsborough as part of DS's Producer Season 2009. Here, Neighbours' leading lady shares some exclusive and exciting teasers with us about what's to come for Ramsay Street's favourite residents.

Libby and Dan
"The golden couple - not so golden. There is nothing interesting to watch in a marriage that works. It's a very, very slow, long burn and there's some wonderful humour and the fact there's the Brady Bunch a bit. We are making stories about what happens in people's lives and there's the good and the bad."

Steph
"Steph's great. She's a bikie chick and we're going to have her stay as a bikie chick. She's finding her way through relationships and does she want the relationship like Libby and Dan have or does she want to want to be a stay-at-home mum? No, she doesn't. She's looking for a soul mate. She and Toadie will always be soul mates, they will always love each other, but it's not that kind of love. There are other people around who are more suited to our Steph."

Lucas and Elle
"They're our moonlighting couple. They're chalk and cheese and they'll always be chalk and cheese. They're crazy about each other and we take them a long way down the track and bring them back again. They're forever splitting up and getting back together for all sorts of reasons. We're bringing in a very important issue that is concerning a lot of people in our society and it's about how does one get an adrenalin rush? As closer as Lucas and Elle get to becoming a couple, they're both very high rollers in different ways so they're going to have to look somewhere else to get their adrenalin rush."

Toadie
"Toadie is working incredibly well with Mini Me (Callum Jones, played by Morgan Baker) and that continues. At the same time we never lose sight of the fact that he's a lawyer and he plays a big role in the aftermath of the Parker's leaving. Then he has a wonderful storyline with a new love interest that is quite intriguing."

Susan and Karl
"My God! We put them through the wringer! We have to take them through the surrogacy storyline because Karl doesn't approve. And there's more, there's lots more with Susan and Lynnie and Rebecca and Paul and newspaper stories and all sorts of things."

Lou
"Lou does some terrific things. We do a story a bit like My Name Is Earl, where he feels that he's had a hex put on him so he has to do good acts. There's miles and miles of story with Lou. He becomes very important when Lyn comes back. There's some really good stuff that has both laughter and tears in it."

Rebecca and Paul
"They're another couple who really need to be together, and what can we do to keep them apart? Lots of things!"

Sunny and Zeke
"They're our Romeo and Juliet couple. They come from different cultures and she's got a year as an exchange student, so we play out the Romeo and Juliet thing. How far do they go for their love? Do they love each other? They keep clashing because of their cultural differences. Zeke is also still in recovery mode from what happened to him after the rafting episode and being taken and brought up as someone else's son, so that's the gift that keeps on giving."

Donna
"Where can I start? Donna has a huge story trajectory. She knows she's not going to be a nuclear physicist. She is a stylist and an event organiser and that's where she's going to go, and that's going to get her in a lot of trouble. "

And also on the cards...
§ The consequences of the Parker departure is shocking and has a ripple effect that goes on for weeks, affecting most of the people in Ramsay Street.
§ There are newcomers and departures and none of our newcomers or departures come in or leaves without a bang.
§ We're also working on the Australian end of year story and I don't think that's something people will see coming. It's to do with the stalwarts of Ramsay Street.
