Tony not leaving just yet...

Murderous scot Tony Gordon is not leaving Coronation Street officially until early next year, around March or April.
As we saw this week, Tony turned himself in, confessing to the murder of love-rat Liam Connor, and also confessing to the fact that he nearly let Roy Cropper drown in the local canal, the same night, but finally decided to save him by pulling out of the murky (and surprisingly deep) canal.
Although he's now well truly banged up in prison, he will return next year, presumably for his murder trial, where he will surely be sentenced to life behind bars.
If I was a Corrie writer, I would have preferred it if Tony had a second heart attack, and Maria would find him, dying in the street. As he lay on the cobbles, for the last moments of his life, he would use his last bit of strength to tell her that he had something important to reveal to her. She would lean in, and Tony would whisper into her ear "I...killed...Liam", just before clutching his chest, and finally passes away in her arms.
Tony would die with a clean slate; Maria would finally know the truth (though she would be angry that justice was never served!) and the storyline that had us all, shouting at our telly, would reach its final, and satisfying end.

If I was a writer for Corrie, I would have had Maria and Tony getting married and on the big day and just as the vicar said 'If anyone has anything against this couple getting married, speak now!' Carla burst through the church doors and she said: 'I have!' Now that would have been good.

To be honest i would like to see them get married and Maria have TonyS baby and both of them have a happy life together

yeah fair point both were cheated on. but does vdeserve to be happy after killing liam?
Personally i dont think so. it would be a good story line that if the day of the trail maria finds out she pregnant with tonys baby.

I would have liked Tony and Maria to stay together too, but I don't really think that a murder deserves to be happy however charming he is.
